Richard explored photography at a young age, his passion took him into the darkroom where he learned advanced development and post-production skills.
That interest morphed into 18 years in the Retail & Industrial Photo Trade.
Richard has always found people as a key point of interest, this lead him into the portrait side of photography.
In more recent years, Richard has been exploring the world, finding new and facinating faces in all kinds of wonderful places
Richard is based in Geraldton, a beautiful coastal town in Western Australia.
His experience has lead him to win gold and silver awards at the local camera club, as judged by West Australia Photographic Judges Association.
He won 1st Prize in a street photography competition run by the Geraldton Arts & Cultrural Development Council in early 2018.
In 2019 Richard was a finalist in the "An Ordinary Day" Photography competition run by the Geraldtion Regional Art Gallery,
and in the Fremantle International Portrait Prize 2019.
He won a bronze award in the Amateur Portrait category for the 2019 Portrait Conference online competition for his studio portrait of Jazz McKinley
In 2020 He won a Highly Commended in the 2020 Australian Photography Mono awards for his mono version of his outdoor portrait of Jacqueline Haba and has had one of his images printed in the local paper
